Jiro is a headstrong kid that is set on revenge for all of the destruction Nene has caused. It has been assumed that Nene may have burnt down his village and taken his entire village (or kids) hostage, just like what happened with Shu's village. Jiro is constantly causing rifts between him and Shu, just to make their rivalry that much more of a "rivalry."
