Tamaki begins the series as a broody and unsociable girl who wants to become a writer. She is persuaded to join the baseball team to add to her experience of people, for her writing. Tamaki has some experience playing baseball; she played when she was younger. The team members think she is cute when she blushes. Tama-chan is her nickname, which embarrasses her. She has a slight rivalry with Tomoe.
