This character is a homage to the famed Japanese samurai folk hero Yagyu Jubei. He is a character created by Yoshiaki Kawajiri. He is a protagonist of the show. He is a wandering vagabond ninja who wants nothing to do but rest until one day, he got himself involved in a battle between the Hiruko and the Kimon Clan.
