Maya Yokoo, the second third-year student on the team, is a competitive and tall girl with more team spirit than anyone else in her team. Maya is a bit of a tomboy and tends to speak in a rather aggressive and foul-mouthed manner, calling her teammates "twits" and "dumbasses" when they do not take kendo seriously; however, she will stick up for her teammates when Yuuri says cruel things about them (or rather, Akemi), as shown in two episodes of the anime.
